I suspect Reutmark may be Grendel or similar.

I think generally mismanagement is recognised. For me it was the right idea (diversification of income) that was derailed by initial debt and subsequent circumstance.
As far as the other clubs. Do I hope they fail - no. Do I think PRL can survive as it is - no. Do I think anyone in charge of a PRL club will change anything - no. So how does it change - it?s a catch 22. Elite rugby in England will wither and die with a repetitive, stale league of 10. Ideas for increasing interest range from futile to ridiculous. As far as I can see the grand plan to increase revenues is to reduce home games which is beyond ridiculous. I don?t want any club to fail but things must change. So some might have to.

Not sure what news there can be in reality. We?re not playing anywhere next year. Any playing return could only be autumn 2024. The last time we played was two years prior. It would have to be well down the leagues. You have to wonder about the interest.

Straw grasping. They really have no idea at all. Football fans staying on to watch rugby. That?s the strategy - along with attracting casual fans!! Lunacy.

96
Desperate times for the game. Just not enough money around outside of 5-6 individuals.

97
I?ve cancelled BT and given the reason why. Without that I?ll just drift away from PRL. I?ll be watching French and local rugby.

His core point for me is the crux of the problem. The PRL marks it?s own homework. Owners who have invested never to be seen again millions are searching wide eyed for trophies and glory. Why should they be interested in the good of the game? Their ego?s are such that if the league came down to them and one remaining club they?d celebrate as much as winning a competitive league. But the fact remains, elite rugby is still dependent on these individuals instigating change. They?re not going to do it while 10 clubs exist. The worst thing that can happen for elite rugby is that the 10 limp on. Interest will wane, the game will die. One more unfortunate soul to the wall and it is too obvious that it?s untenable and change must happen. Bad for whoever that is in the short term but it?s what the game needs.

Why can?t they just try and keep it simple. You finish bottom, you?re relegated. Top, you?re promoted. I?m looking forward to the announcement that with so few premier clubs the top two champ teams make the Challenge cup!

Why does the game need to employ consultants to come up with this?

At least he?s said something. It?s obvious no one is doing anything to halt the elite games headlong rush into oblivion. The strategy seems to be bury head in sand and hope for the best.

I think it?s 1 with a possibility of 3 in a seasons time. As far as I can see nothing actually exists and no one is employed to change that. People can?t keep doing it for free. So I think 1 is likely but leaves some questions. Holland spent over ?100k on the name. Is he willing to just write that off? Is it chicken feed to him? Will he actually end up making a tidy sum by flogging epic to Birmingham? Also, what was his loan to Atlas all about and where has that finished up? If Pudsey is still employed at epic presumably Holland?s paying him out of the rent? (Suppose he?ll TUPE to Birmingham if sold.

?Been given permission to make decisions on behalf of the 10 remaining Premiership clubs?. Firstly that is just never going to happen if those decisions aren?t agreed at Saracens, Bath, Bristol, Exeter and Tigers. Secondly aren?t these mainly the same people who are already in charge? Wood is a token addition in the desperate grasp for credibility.

Spot on WWW. Enjoyed that.

10 team leagues. 14 team leagues. Second tier. Etc etc. it?s actually far simpler than any of that. No league will survive if money out is consistently more than money in. Discount football - that is a desperate and freakish outlier. NWW is 100% correct. PRL is dead. It?s when rather than if. Whatever beast emerges following that may come calling for some brand names??..
