10. Charlie Atkinson (Wasps)
Atkinson might have been on the losing side at Kingsholm following Gloucester's extraordinary comeback but he conducted his side quite beautifully in the first half - and their second-half demise had very little to do with him, either. Everything that was good about Wasps in the first half - and there was plenty - starred Atkinson in a leading role.
5. Joe Launchbury (Wasps)
Like Atkinson, Launchbury was mammoth in a losing cause for Wasps and epitomised their first-half grunt and intensity. He was the fulcrum of Wasps' excellent driving maul and carried with enthusiasm and power close to the fringes. In the second half, even as his team faded, his engine never spluttered.
