Presumably to mentor their young backs such as Wigglesworth, Pollard, Ashton...

Best of luck to him. Extremely odd signing for Tigers.

Very.

They have also P.Cokanasinga, Cronin, Cracknell and A.Watson.
Ford and Genge must have been on a serious wedge!

Report from Bobby Bridge.

The right words. I would think it’s more likely to be one club offered a deal and one didn’t.
-
Doesn’t look like Moroni has re-signed yet with Tigers after their announcements today / could be a handy signing in the centres

I seem to remember an article a few months back when Lee said something along the lines of not being able to offer/guarantee Jimmy the game time he was looking for.

With the players they have accumulated I can't see him getting much game time there

I read somewhere that Jimmy was offered a 2 year deal by Tigers and we only would only give him 1 year which, considering his age, seemed sensible to me.

Well it made me LOL for one ;D

Good luck and best wishes to Jimmy. I’ll never forget ‘that’ kick he made against Exeter.
-
Both Gopperth and Wigglesworth turn 39 next month. By the end of next season Tigers will be fielding a half back pair with a combined age of very nearly 80!
(Easy to mock, but enormous respect to both for staying at the top level for so long!)

He's going to be greatly missed and for many good reasons. I had hoped he would remain as a coach/player, but maybe that would have been too expensive. Sadly one has to be cold-hearted in business and sport sometimes. Thank you so very very much to Jimmy and Jamma for everything they've done for Wasps. and that's one helluva lot. Good luck, good fortune and much happiness to them both, and I hope Tigers treat them better than they treated Guy.

Following the Moneyball discussion earlier in the season with Leicester, I can’t really knock them for wanting Jimmy. Wigglesworth and Ashton are working out and signings like Cronin and Cracknell are probably equally efficient.
Can’t blame Leicester for signing him but also can’t blame us for not offering him a two year deal.
Club legend, a true gent and now good luck to him and his family with the next chapter

2nd that, the 1st season we lost to Exeter in the final and jimmy had just started playing inside centre, I thought that was his best season for us, was absolutely brilliant. He has served the club extremely well and wish him all the best

Pierre Monteux, the first conductor of the Rite of Spring, with his luxuriant moustache and twinkling eyes, who insisted and signed a 25-year contract with the London Symphony Orchestra at the age of 86.
Just how long will Jimmy go on signing contracts?
-
Thank you so very very much to Jimmy and Jamma for everything they've done for Wasps.
Have I missed an announcement somewhere, has it been confirmed that Jamma is off? Would be a real loss as far as I’m concerned.

On leavers parade at awards dinner

I played against Mill Hill Prop John Goldman, who was nearly that age on his own, and our front row had a combined age of 180! Mind you we had no aspirations to be elite players 🤣

We need incoming news.
Soon.
-
Was Miller announced as leaving as well?
-
They were all given the Ivor Mortlake long service award, and, as Jimmy is off, I think 2+2=5 in the case of Gaskell and Miller., especially as there have been rumours about Gaskell
Miller is the sort of player I would think Wasps would want to keep - can play well, not outstandingly, at both 10 and 15 and could easily slot in at 12. He also has a very good kick - in fact I would probably rate his kicking from the tee as up there with, or slightly better than, Jacob.

Apparently in talks with a Japanese club.
