Title: Exeter Sale
Post by: 13thWarrior on August 21, 2020, 06:09:57 PM
Two early tries, could turn into an entertaining game. 1st a lovely move from Exeter slicing Sale open in midfield. 2nd, Sale maul up then Tuilagi makes great yards and then Curry goes over.

A 3rd. All 3 have been good tries as well DeKlerk looking very sharp and playing heads up rugby

Sale get a 2nd, again mauling up, then with a penalty advantage swing it out and the Du Preez who plays 10 beats about 4 tackles to score. Cracking start.

Sale have certainly started pretty well.  Looks like they've started with a pretty strong squad for a second game in succession.  Will that limit who starts against us next week?

You'd hope so.

Also, Dave Ewers is a massive man. He makes Johnny Gray look comparatively slender.

Calling one of Exeter's crooked lineouts would be nice.

Also T Curry winning a few turnovers, going well. Perhaps responding to the challenge of Willis.

Sale look like they've lost their legs in this.  Loosing Curry won't help either.

Sad to say this, but we need Exeter to win this one, if we are to have a chance of moving in to 2nd place this weekend.

That's 2 games in a row with Sale's strongest available side (or something close to it). Suspect Wasps will be facing either a much changed or very weary Sale side on Tuesday.

They can't be weary because they can't play the same players again.

This game was a punters paradise: Sale 15/8 before the game go ahead 14 to 7 at home: the algorithm gives a cash out of nearly double the stake after 24 minutes. £20 becomes £38

Put the money on Exeter at 2/1 after 24 mins. Except for the £5 I put on Worcester at 9/1.

Backdoc....those were just guidelines that the RPA provided.
Nothing is set in stone.
It’s still up to the clubs.

I didn't realise that. I thought it had been agreed by the players professional association [Damian Hopley et al]

Sale must turn up at the Ricoh on Tuesday with a second team. Were full strength again tonight.

Why? It won't be their 3rd game within a week. I think they can use the same players again, but even if so, they'll surely be a bit tired from the short turnaround.

Yes I have just reread it.

It is a big mistake to place the time restrictions to 'a week'

It should be 10 days IMPO.

It's really odd, because I don't think there's any team playing 3 games inside 7 days. I therefore presume that the definition of a week may simply be any 3 consecutive games once midweek games start, rather than 7 days specifically.

Yes, nothing to do with legislation. Just because they'll be absolutely knackered. I think "Dimes" will write this one off.

I got the impression that Steve Diamond gave up on the game when Chiefs started to turn the screw and decided to protect his key players for Tuesday, it is a small squad.

Baxter only made one change going in to this game and it made me wonder if he wants to get the league position secured and then start resting his top player ready for the play-offs?

Cannot start 3 games in a row and play no more that 160 mins.

Is that what the guidelines actually say? Do you have a link? Because it's not what's said in the cov telegraph, that talks about a week.
