Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Saints Match Thread

I know that I am by nature grumpy and somewhat of a pessimist, but I just don't get the positivity. Our defence is poor, it's the worst in the league.

We've conceded 226 points in eight games, that's an average of 28.25. We have to effectively get more than four tries to win a game. That's some asking rate.

Last season - 552 points, average 25 points conceded per game.

This may have been less of an issue when we had the backline from the rugby gods, but we don't any more.

I missed the announcement of the law change that came into effect Jan 1st regarding there no longer being an offside line..Watching Sale v Quins we are seeing the effect of this change adopted by Sale.

I think it was announced together with the change regarding lineout throws, which must now be straight-ish.

Will they be having a whip-round for a retirement present? There might be a few bob floating around somewhere.

Well, that was disappointing.

Positives?

Hmm...

Where is the on-field leadership?

This getting to be depressingly familiar.

Was YY held there, preventing him from getting across to tackle?

That was a beautifully worked try.

There's a sense of purpose about the team today.

Quins' kit, however, is making me feel nauseous.

A Council spokesperson told i: “Barnet Council is extremely proud to host Saracens in the borough. They are an important partner and have supported our community in a number of ways..."

Maybe they can get my black bin emptied, those scrotes haven't done it for three weeks.

I'm surprised that Barnet has the cash to spare, the roads and pavements are a disgrace.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: OT- Broadband & TV experience

I recently had to change my ISP as Vodafone were closing the Demon brand. I switched to Vodafone for both broadband (fibre to box, not house) and home phone.

Both are fine. One of the reasons I liked Demon was that they blocked nothing, and Vodafone are the same. I have a business account, and there are various guarantees attached to it. The speed increase I received over Demon was considerable. My only comment is that once or twice a day the connection freezes for about thirty seconds. Nothing worse.

My landline doesn't get used much, the calls in are generally "Michael from Microsoft" or people who think I've had a car accident. I can hear the lies quite clearly from both.

A few seasons back when we had Cips, Beale, WLR and others in full flight we were winning by scoring more than the opposition. "You score one try? We'll get three."

Most of us knew back then that defence wasn't our strongest suit.

Look at who's gone and who's arrived in their place and you can't honestly say that we've traded up. It now seems that we've changed to "You score one try? We won't and we'll probably give away a penalty at the restart."

This hasn't happened accidentally. Someone was responsible for recruitment. Someone is responsible for coaching. Dai may as well have taped his post-game interview responses and keep them handy for the future. It's not going to improve accidentally.
