Very much so.

Makes me wonder how Mr Holland will get himself out of the EPIC and Sixways. Maybe the deal he has with Birmingham City will become permanent.

Then he will have a nice farm house there to sell also. I wonder if the contractors who did all that work ever got paid? I know that they had not been when Wasps folded.

The house was separate from the EPIC. I believe Derek retained ownership of the house.

If we have a new group of players, new coaches, new owners, a new stadium, new training facilities, and we play in a new competition what exactly is it that makes us Wasps?

We will have finally become exactly what the lovely folk in Coventry accused us of (wrongly) all those times.

So if that is to be taken at face value we have a stadium, and a way of financing a club that doesn't rely on Chris Holland but no competition to play in.

This raises a few questions.

Do we have a team?  Players? Coaches? Support staff?

Why do we not have a competition to play in?  Are we trying to force our way back to the top table and being told no?  If so why?

What competition options are there?

I guess if we keep the faith we'll find out in a couple more years.  ::)

I figured when Rowe sold himself his own hotel he was securing his assets for when he pulled out of the club.

I guess time will tell. Though for me it's hard to care much.

It's a tricky situation, Derek cannot reclaim any money for or on behalf of Wasps. He no longer owns it. Chris Holand does.

The figure he is claiming I suspect is a combination of actual tangible losses, and lost future profits based on him losing ownership of the business.

I could be wrong though, I'm no legal expert. I have no doubt it will all come out soon. What I do know is that Deeek has been wanting to make this public for a long time. But has not been in a position to be able to do so. We have spoken a number of times about getting the truth out there, but legal advice has always been to hold fire for the time being.

I believe Derek's personal losses amount to 8 figures.

Not tearing it up financially. ?5m loss apparently.

According to Wikipedia, Stephen Lansdown is worth ?1.72 billion. If the club continues to lose 5 million per annum then he will go broke in 344 years. :o :o :o

Assuming of course he's been smart enough to put his entire fortune in a 0% interest account.  The interest on his interest would be enough to bail the club out for the rest of all time.

He was the Chief Operating Officer. You don't much more Executive than that.

Can't help but wonder why an allegedly astute business man needed a financial adviser to tell him that scheme sounded a bit dodgy.

I think you've missed the point.  He instructed solicitors with a specialism of finance and on their recommendation set up a scheme.  It turned out that either through malice or negligence it was less than appropriate.  I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that a legal firm would actually put your interests first and foremost when they are acting on your behalf.  Nor is it unreasonable to ask for specialist advice on a highly technical subject.

That fits with what I'd heard. I note that there is no detail as to why the financial advisor failed to do as Derek instructed and how that caused the cascade of fuck ups that killed our club.

I guess that'll come out in the case itself.

Hi,

My daughter is an amazing singer (you'd expect me to say that, but it's actually true), she won a choral scholarship to a local prestigious school where she was the head chorister in their chapel choir, and sings with the award winning Farnham Youth Choir.  Last year FYC won an international choir competition which made them eligible to represent the UK at the World Choir Games in 2024.  The problem is that it is in Aukland, New Zealand, and as FYC is a charity they can't fund everyone to go.  So we are looking to raise money to cover her flights and accommodation.

We're asking people to help sponsor her so she can take this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  In return we will be holding a big part once she gets back and everyone who helped will be invited so she can thank them personally.  There will be tea and cake, and hopefully beer too.  And she has agreed to sing a couple of songs for us.

If you have anything you can spare to make her dream come true I would be hugely grateful.  If not that's absolutely fine, but perhaps you might be willing to share the link on social media to help spread the word.

Thank you very much indeed.
