Of course viewer records will be broken when so many more games are now on free to air TV. I suspect like for like comparisons of TNT only games against previous seasons when games were only shown on BT will paint a very different picture.

So easily could have been McMillar-McMills, that would have tested the commentators.

Hard enough when he came on for Wasps to join Rob Miller and Ryan Mills in the 15. Think it only ever happened once.

The addition of an S at the end would make them sound a bit less like a pub team!

Just had a look at the table, and spotted a remarkable stat. Only 3 out of 10 teams with negative points difference: the bottom 2 and, bizarrely the league leaders.

I loved that game, it was great to watch, but Portugal had nothing to lose given the draw with Georgia was being called a win but for the last kick. If watching games with nothing resting on it is your thing then the bottom of the Prem match-ups without relegation at season end are for you.  ;D

England also had nothing to play for, with the group already won, so the argument that games are typically more open and entertaining with nothing resting on them doesn't really stack up!

Given that Bill Sweeney was talking about English Rugby being "on the cusp of something spectacular" is it just one club?

Wow!! After 4 professional clubs have gone to the wall in 12 months, what could he possibly have up his sleeve for an encore???

Australia Wales result would suggest that Eddie Jones is pretty clueless.

Who knew???

Seemingly everyone except the RFU until it was far, far too late.

Good interview. Thanks for posting.

Not quite as forthright in bashing England as some recent pieces by former players. A more circumspect reflection based on his experience which is somewhat broader than that of most English coaches and former players.

This one short quote summed up England and English rugby in general for me: "We are very much slaves to our plan.". Until that plan changes, England will go on as they are.

Wasps RFC - a fully functioning team

When I said Wasps men, I was referring to the "professional" side that exists purely on paper & in the imaginations of the Legends (not that the Legends are to blame for that!), not the amateurs of Wasps RFC playing at Twyford avenue.

Hope I've cleared that up....

When I referred to Wasps men, I meant the only Wasps men's team that is actually out there playing rugby at any level, professional or otherwise. FC / RFC are indeed 2 different clubs, only one of which currently exists in any meaningful form, the other as you said is a stack of paperwork, a bunch of dusty old trophies and the increasingly forlorn looking hopes and dreams of a great many people.

Wasps Women are still in existence, just not playing in the Premier 15s.

Same could be said for the men.

Farrell was originally handed a six game ban.

However it was reduced to four games after taking all considerations into account:

?including the player?s acceptance of foul play, clear demonstration of remorse and his good character.?

"Acceptance of foul play" ???? How can he be said to have accepted that it was foul play when a week ago he successfully argued to have the red card overturned?

Remorse??? I'm sure he's played the remorse card on every previous occasion, yet he keeps doing it. That's not how remorse works!

Good character?? Matter of opinion of course, but I know exactly where I stand on that one!

If it were the RFU determining the ban then I am in no doubt strings would be pulled, backs scratched and St. Owen would be back in time for the WC.
This one is World Rugby's call though, so remains to be seen if the "Sexton. Effect" will lead to a shorter ban to ensure that the WC has its big names or whether they will actually back up all their well intentioned noise about reducing head injuries.

If he got a ban in January, went to school and still "tackles" like that then either he's an idiot, a thug or the naughty boy course he went on was rubbish.

I suspect all 3.

6 weeks or 6 "meaningful" games?
Borthwick hastily arranging 4 additional (very significant) warm up games against Saracens 3rd XV.
