Wasps Rugby Discussion / Bath look to loan Worcester players
« on: October 02, 2022, 03:06:39 PM »
Rugby paper saying that Bath are looking to take on loan Ted Hill, Ollie Lawrence and Rory Sutherland. No idea if it’s true or not but would be nice additions to a struggling team.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Our Backs
« on: May 21, 2022, 08:22:37 AM »
Looking at our backs of last night, Bassett, Charlie, Dan, Jimmy, Fekitoa, Hougaard and Crossdale

Plus subs Paolo and porter, which one of those players would make the first team of any other premiership team. I can only think of Dan but he’s not exactly flying at the moment, maybe Bassett but he doesn’t score any trys (personally don’t think that is solely his fault)

Have I got it right, surely that can’t be right. If so that is a big problem. Getting in only one 12 is not going to be enough.

This is a problem that needs to be sorted. It doesn’t look like we can bring any from the premiership as I believe it would have been announced, maybe I’m wrong about that. Therefore do we have no choice and have to bring some players from abroad

Wasps Rugby Discussion / How bad is our 10 situation
« on: May 08, 2022, 11:35:49 AM »
I know we can’t change this season but we can’t denial it’s a big problem for us.

I really do think Charlie has the potential to be a very good 10 but not for another 2/3 years.

I appreciate we have the young lad from Newcastle coming next season but again it’s not going to solve the problem next season, great in 2/3 seasons.

Yesterday really highlighted the 10 problem, Charlie hardly touched the ball as everything was coming of 9, which I personally believe is effecting him.

It looks to me the coaching set up don’t trust Charlie to play 1st receiver and is then constantly par passed.

We have the potential to be a decent team but not if we don’t have a 10.

I’ve read that we may have up to 3 players coming in for next season, one has got to be an experienced 10 so the young 10’s don’t have so much pressure they can’t clearly deal with and the coaches don’t seem to trust

Wasps Rugby Discussion / The next 2 games
« on: February 20, 2022, 12:24:25 PM »
How important are they?

For me we have to win both to give us any chance of top 4. I appreciate it may be slim but I believe we have a chance if we win the next 2 games.

Bristol are for some reason not playing well and very much there for the taken. Having the Willis brothers back helps, plus Mills getting game time with Spinks.

Northampton will be very difficult but we should have Brad back the Willis brothers fitter, maybe Frosty back. For me we are in with a shout.

We should then have launchbury and Alfie back for the Newcastle game and our combination starting to settle down.

We then have a chance, lose I think it’s done and we just got to make sure we’re top 8 and in the big boys European cup next season.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / England squad
« on: February 02, 2022, 11:10:46 AM »
Has now been reduced to 29 players, I know EJ does a lot of stupid stuff but I’m finding this squad very odd.

The 2nd row is difficult to fathom. He has itoje, which is obvious, then his other choices are Chessum, Ewels and maybe Isiekwe, who may even have to play in the back row.

I know it’s good for us but how the hell is Chessum and Ewels ahead of Stooke.

Also back row, curry at 7 is fine and Dombrant and simmonds at 8 fine. 6 is a big problem, does EJ really believe that Isiekwe is the best 6 available. Again best for us but on what planet is Isiekwe better than Alfie or Brad at 6. I appreciate Isiekwe can play 2nd row as well but I personally feel he isn’t our best choice anyway.

I would like to see Jack Nowell and Max Malins on the wing because he has let all the good one go. I should imagine it will be Daly.

I would like England to do well but I’m struggling to see us get pass Scotland, Ireland and France

Wasps Rugby Discussion / 1 minute to kick

Wow anyone watching the Stormers v Sharks

Had a penalty and after a minute the ref said minute up too late, which lead to a scrum

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Qualifying for Europe last 16
« on: January 16, 2022, 05:01:57 PM »
Do we need any points from next week’s game to get into the last 16. I’m not sure we do. I would like more points as I’d prefer not to finish 8th.

The 4 teams below us I’m not sure any of them can win next week, maybe Stade but I think we are in with a shout.

We then have until April to get our injuries down to a lot lower than 19. If that’s the case no one worries me.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Excited
« on: January 12, 2020, 03:51:15 PM »
I doubt I’m not the only one but Im really getting excited with the Youngsters coming through.

If the players keep on improving and we add only 2/3 players, we are in for some enjoyable seasons, if our coaching set up can keep up.

We do have some brilliant players who can help the youngsters, I’m looking for to they development

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Is it just me
« on: November 30, 2019, 11:04:14 AM »
I found it very difficult and uncomfortable watching the EA's last night, especially with so many under paid international players. I disliked them prior to, what we all already knew, finally coming out.

For me they are still cheating and putting two fingers up to everyone in the meantime. I hate this lets circle the wagons rubbish, they are not innocent and it looks like the EA don't care.

Having a big problem with that, as it is spoiling the beautiful game

Wasps Rugby Discussion / ‘Use it’
« on: March 31, 2019, 01:27:14 PM »
Finally a ref gives a free kick after he calls ‘use it’ at the breakdown and the scrum half doesn’t.

I wish refs would Give out more free kicks. I think this is the first time I’ve seen a ref do it.

Enjoyable game La Rochelle v Bristol
