Wasps Rugby Discussion / Matios Moroni
« on: June 22, 2022, 09:25:32 AM »
Confirmed to be leaving Leicester Tigers and appears to be on his way to Newcastle.

I'm a little surprised he isn't being linked to Wasps. Isn't he just what we need/want?

Not sure John Mitchell was at the CBS last night or in Lyon last week?

Anyone spot him?

in talks with a Japanese club and may leave Wasps suggests TRP.

I hope not. Admittedly Jamma has had bad luck with injuries in the last 2 or 3 seasons but he is still only 31 and a player that I've always rated highly.

He is a great line out tactician & stealer; ideal foil for Joe and gets around the park - it would be a real shame if he leaves.

Edinburgh leading Bath 22-19 with c.10 minutes to go.

Come on Bath - we could do with a home game.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Levi Douglas, TJ Harris and Thibaud.....
« on: October 05, 2020, 01:15:09 PM »
....have now left Wasps so says Wikipedia (Premiership rugby signings page).

Levi and TJ released. Thibaud has left for Toulouse.

Good luck to all three (if that’s the case).

It’s some time away but this is another sign that things are getting back to normal slowly.

The Specials had three sell out gigs in the grounds of Coventry Cathedral in 2019 so I would expect another one next year. No problem.

Hotel and hospitality will be full as well.

Great news.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Sunday Times - 06.09.2020

Two things ....

1. Excellent feature by Stephen Jones on the retirement of Wasps’ Danielle (Nolly) Waterman. He says she is ‘the greatest full back that rugby has seen’. Nolly battled against  a catalogue of injuries to play for her club and country. 82 capped World Cup winner who received no recognition from the RFU upon her retirement. Sad.

2. In his article about a hypothetical England Probables v Possibles trial game Stuart Barnes selects Biyi Alo on the bench for the Possibles. A little unlikely I guess but it just shows what happens when your team shows some form.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / New signing rumour - Sam Davies
« on: August 17, 2020, 06:50:02 PM »
Wales Online are reporting that 8 cap talented Dragons fly-half Sam Davies is being linked with Wasps (and Bath) after his failure to agree a significant pay cut.

I know very little about him to be honest. They say he may be replacement for Lima.

Does anyone know if this is likely?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Taking the knee v Saints
« on: August 12, 2020, 04:10:55 PM »
I’m very proud that Wasps players will be taking the knee prior to the kick off against Saints.

As a culturally diverse team in a culturally diverse city to send out a message that we deplore racism - and celebrate diversity - is entirely the right thing to do.

Well done Wasps.

On his way to the Dragons?

Shame.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Dave Walder?
« on: May 02, 2020, 10:12:01 AM »
I’ve been thinking........

We have recruited like for like replacements for Dai Young, Andy Titterall and Dan Baugh.

If Lee Blackett is stepping up and overseeing the coaching team this leaves a gap as a backs/skills coach doesn’t it?

Martin Gleeson is the Assistant Skills Coach but is new to rugby union so is unlikely to have the experience to step up so soon.

Does anyone believe Dave Walder will plug that gap and join us?

Wasps have selected a very useful team for today’s game at Broadstreet.

I’m unable to copy and paste the team but it includes Rob Miller, Searle, Wolstenholme, Tom Willis, Vukosanovic, Cardall and a ridiculously good front row - Owlett, Ashley and Toomaga-Allen.

These games are usually really good to watch as you get so close to the pitch to hear the collisions and hear the coaching advice.

Free for season ticket holders. I’ll be there.
