Supposition and Wishful Thinking

Both he and Alfie Barbeary posted on Twitter, of them chatting after the Munster game. They are probably mates via the junior England ranks but Ollie was in the crowd and from what I can tell his extension with Warriors expires in the summer. Not a bad addition if we could get him. However, our track record of establishing centres coming in from Wuss is woeful.

The silence on Mills worries me, when you consider that some of the injuries that are being reported on are massive in terms of impact and we are seeing updates, his broken foot seems to linger on and on. There was an opinion that he was made of glass, prior to joining, I really hope that point of view is wrong.

Well off goes McNally and Davison, to be seen in a ruck.co.uk article in 10 years time as ‘players you forgot played for England’ same probably likely for Wells.

At least Eddie is now playing a 12 (eventhough he’s Irish) and has some tactical options on the bench in the backs.
Great news for Dombrandt getting a game and we’ll done from Paul Hill for working his way back into the mix.
Umaga was not good last week but I’m not sure why Eddie continuously talks about Furbank as a 10.
Will watch but it will probably will not tell us anything new
Umaga wasn't good last week because Crazy Eddie played him out of position due to his bench cock up, Dan clearly doesn't deserve a start as he underwhelmed on the wing. I wouldn't be surprised if Obano is only on the bench to cover 9  ;)

Yes, Jones has made a real mess of it and USA have 4 tries. No idea why Malins started on the wing. If you're going 6-2 Malins should have been the bench man. We were never, ever going to struggle up front against USA so why take the risk of a 6-2?? No doubt Robson will slip further down the pecking order now having been stationed on the wing. Randall MOM but for me he's a dangerous player for his own side with his predictable darts.

Joking aside, Randall had a reasonable game against a low calibre nation, but I do fear EJ will now punt Dan. Then EJ will be seeting there all smug saying I told you so. Jacob was also a fish out of water where he was playing, I too thought Smith was overlooking Jacob when he was in space, I thought it was just me. Not a great day for Wasps players due to EJ's mistakes with the bench.

Fair point, however, like you I love it, particularly Alex Goode's feeble ' Easy bud'.

Strong Quins starting team and bench, I would back them over Falcons;

1. Joe Marler (223)
2. Scott Baldwin (42)
3. Wilco Louw (26)
4. Matt Symons (61)
5. Dino Lamb (47)
6. Tom Lawday (39)
7. Jack Kenningham (11)
8. Alex Dombrandt (74) - Captain
9. Danny Care (304)
10. Marcus Smith (108)
11. Aaron Morris (62)
12. Ben Tapuai (44)
13. Joe Marchant (111)
14. Louis Lynagh (11)
15. Tyrone Green (20)

Quins having a clear-out, not many that catch the eye, however, would we be keen on Nathan Earle, if we are after a winger, then if he says fit he would probably fit the bill, unless the lure of the Euro is too great...Elia Elia and Tapuai also leaving.

The TMO is an absolute disgrace -

BIGGAR SHOULD HAVE SEEN RED
RIBBANS KNOCKS THE BALL ON AND WOOD SCORES
RIBBANS THEN GOES HIGH on CHARLIE, DEEMED AS FINE

Ridiculous and he should never see the inside of a TMO van again, or be allowed anywhere near a rugby ground.....

I feel that there is always a word missing, 'Disgraced Championship club Saracens'... ;)

Linked with Toulon but nothing concrete, I would class him a first line Lock https://www.rugbypass.com/news/disappointed-connacht-confirm-ireland-lock-quinn-roux-is-leaving/, and will certainly provide us with some height...6 foot 6.

The Coventry Building Society is viewed favourably in the West Midlands area, I think this will only strengthen Wasps ties to the region/City of Coventry, and drive up support. This coupled with the Henley-in-Arden training facilities and an improvement in relations with Coventry City FC means affairs off the pitch are definitely moving upward.

But if we're going to promote from the academy we need to bloody use them.

I know that no one is happy with the way we're playing, but we're currently using West, Oghre, Barbeary, Willis X2, Umaga, Atkinson and 2 scrum halves all of whom were in our academy fairly recently.

While we're obviously not having them all on the pitch at the same time, that's still quite a few academy players making the starting XV

I was referring to Sirker, Spink, Simonds and Bacon. All of whom are on loan rather than used as part of squad rotation.

So yeah tbf I generalized in an unfair way, we are using academy. But there are others who should also be given opportunity.

I don't get this, "we have youngsters so let's use them as they must be good enough and that'll fix everything." Worcester are currently playing loads of their youngsters and are being completely hammered.

Also, Spink and Simonds have both played in the first team when fit, but have been injured. Sirker can't get into a Championship side yet. Bacon is behind an example of rare quality in our squad - or would you pick him over Bassett, Zach or Paolo?

Regarding playing youngsters it can be a two-edged sword, Wuss have lost Nick David to Quins today. He was put into the first team and as a result of some good performances, has been monitored,  and has now gone to a club where he might win something. I hope we don't let that scenario occur with some of our more prodigious talent.

Mixed feelings as well, on occasion (rare) he was outstanding but in the main I felt he never really adapted to the English Premiership, on the flip side his departure frees up a huge wedge of salary. I expect Lee to move quickly if he hasn't already, as we will need an experienced 10 IMO, given Jimmy's likely reduction in playing time.

I wish him well, he was a very likeable chap.
