VV,
I'd be interested to know why you are sceptical about the long lease being controlled by CH

Because I was told by someone who may have reason to know.

VV,
As per my post above, I think CH already controls (97%) of the company that holds the long lease. 999 years is very akin to a freehold.

I realise that, but I'm not convinced that is indeed what he has.

I have it on relatively good authority that the sixways lease is only for the remainder of the 5 years that were negotiated by thr Wuss team when they were trying to resurrect the team. So not actually very long at all.

He may well be in the process of acquiring the actual long lease though, or maybe even trying for the freehold.

Who knows?

I'm not exactly brimming with confidence right now...

Sounds to me mainly like he's complaining that we're focussing on all the bad things that have happened and still are and not talking about how amazing his club is.

Wasps are gone. Anything we may get in the future will be a completely different team in every way but name. So all we have is England. And in fairness I am so fed up of being heartbroken by rugby that I'm not willing to put up with the crap they are currently serving out.

I'll start enthusiastically supporting them again when they start playing the game I actually want to watch with the values I care about. And with players I consider worthy of the shirt.

Reutmark33 this is a pretty tight knit group of people. As fans we've been through a lot, and despite not always agreeing with each other we all try and treat each other with respect.

We certainly don't come here to specifically target individual posters and try to start arguments.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because I'm feeling generous, but that's unlikely to last.

If you want to stay, be nice, be respectful, be kind.

And yet Tony Rowe's blatant cash juggling between Chiefs and SW Comms is fine. And Nigel Wray's actual cheating is fine too.

The fact is it's nothing to do with ethics, or legality, it's simply down to whether your face fits and whether you are part of the old firm.

Quote from: NellyWellyWaspy
If those four win the debate, that means 3 of the 6 are sitting on the fence, and 3 are voting to keep it lower. So, you have:

Gloucester 3
Quins -
Saints -
Tigers 2
Falcons 1
Sale -

Above are those 6. Numbered are the 3 most likely for the lower cap, and most likely in trouble, I think in that order  (1, 2, 3). It is quite worrying that Lance has stepped down so suddenly.

All it takes is for the money man to wake up one morning and say, as Mick Crossan did, 'Enough is enough, I'm out.' No point in looking for a buyer, Wasps, Worcester and Irish did that, they turned every rock over, searched the jungles and desert islands. As soon as the decision is made in that owner's mind, the wages do not get paid. There is every chance that the final demand from HMRC has been on their desk for days, if not weeks. I think we would have heard if some wages had not been paid in June, but that July payment is only two weeks away. If they did not make the HMRC payments last month, and maybe not in May, the Winding Up petition will be in Court over the next couple of weeks.

FWIW I heard a credible rumour recently that Quins were looking for money.

With the utmost respect, Pudsey's twitter feed hasn't proven to be very accurate over the last few months.

Seems the pitch that was laid less than a year ago and cost half a million has been ripped out.

I wish it was any of the others, but I have no faith that any real effort was ever made to try to save the club, and I certainly don't think anyone with any ability to actually do anything is trying now.

Agreed. Someone has made a fair amount from it I suspect...
