Interview with Bobby Bridge.

Jimmy's been doing quite a bit of coaching. I wonder if he might slot into our setup sometime?

Let’s be honest, he’s got one more season maximum.

I agree, but some people have been saying that about him for about 3-4 years now

It probably depends upon how we intend to play. If he's playing 12 with the key second receivers at 13 and 15, then he might demonstrate longevity, beyond one year. Were we to look towards a faster running style requiring the 12 to make a lot of metres round the pitch, it might be a season and then off to the coaching side.

Playing or coaching I’d keep him around the Team for as long as possible.  He’s got the sort of on-pitch Leadership he can pass down, a great rugby brain and I’m sure he’ll prove an excellent coach.

The longer we have him, the better, I say.

Jimmy (and Craig Hampson) have been coaching Nuneaton Old Edwardians since August 2017. Apparently Jimmy carried on coaching Old Eds during his recovery from knee surgery.

I’d have him as a player-coach. Hopefully we see what might have been this season if Jimmy and Lima start the last 2 games together. Could get me really excited for next season- atm I’m more just willing the current one to end

Never mind, Jimmy’s broken his thumb and needs surgery. Out for the rest of the season.

We used to undoubtedly play at our best with Cips at 10 and Jimmy at 12. If that recipe still works with Lima at 10 and that is how Dai wants to play then recruitment really needs to be focussed on a Jimmy replacement over the next year.
Know we looked at Ryan Mills a while ago, Booj has come in, Eastmond has been and gone. I highly doubt whether Dai sees Umaga, Simmonds, Anderson or Spink as the heir apparent so we need to start looking.
Keeping Jimmy on board is esssential. Next year as player, imagine the year after as player coach working with the backs and the year after FT coach would be good.
