Jeez didn't expect one of ours to get injured this early. Hope it is a minor tweak but suspect a bit more than that.

Can't be blamed on Wasps training facilities or Ricoh pitch at least.

Hope it wasn’t Judo  :-X

That aside, hope he can get back out there and join the subsequent camps. He brings both Wasps and England something different. Real finesse to his game.

Dombrandt replaces him.....so sounds serious enough....good enough player but more experience in the squad.

According to the Daily Mail the injury is not serious and he will be able to link back up with England in due course.

Latest on Brad from today's Telegraph:

England are expected to confirm that Brad Shields, the Wasps flanker, is in line to return to training by the middle of next month after leaving the ‘heat’ training camp in Treviso last week following minor damage to ligaments in his left foot.
Shields is undergoing rehabilitation at his club and is likely to be available for England’s second warm-up match against Wales in Cardiff on Aug 17.

Glad to hear that it's only 'minor damage'. Makes a change  :)

BBC Radio News reporting 6 weeks, so may not make it for the World Cup.

What is it about Wasps players and England?

In my view (even as a Wasp supporter) I don't think Brad has shone brightly enough for England to be seen as one of the first names on the team sheet. Wilson is my number 1 blindside. I would imagine Brad's seat on the plane to Japan is now in question if there's no likelihood of him playing before the squad departs.

I think they value his versatility covering 6/8 and SR and I'd hope, his experience

I'm glad the Quins lad is getting exposure - but one for 2023, surely? I'm never one for exposing the inexperienced to a RWC...but that's just my opinion!
