Interesting Analysis from Bobby Bridge
« on: March 03, 2020, 02:54:15 PM »
Premiership Rugby table SINCE EA's relegation was confirmed on January 18th

We've done rather well but Gloucester, this weekend's opponents, have done the worst of all!

I naturally take much of what my Gloucester supporting mate says with 3 kilos of salt, so I am not overly convinced by this, but according to him, relations between Humphreys and Ackermann are on a par with Kim Jong Un and just about anyone else (Humphreys is Kim Jong Un), and if they lose this weekend, Ackermann will be out.

Relations between players are apparently not much better with fights breaking out between players on the training pitch and in the changing rooms on a regular basis.

If this table was last 5 rounds then Wasps would be top on 20 points, having got bonus point victory against Bristol in the extra round. Bristol got 2 points from that game I believe so they would be on 18 points.

It’s amazing what a lack of relegation pressure can do to you. Think we seem to have stumbled across a system that gets the most out of the players. On paper we all knew the squad is more than good enough for the top 6, now we have performances to match.

Umaga has been a revelation and it’s no surprise that Jimmy’s availability has improved us. Also looks like Dobby is back to his old self. I can see us getting top 4 if we keep this form up.

Dare I say part of their problem is a 10 who has to play one way whatever the conditions?? Watched them v Sale last Friday and they tried to pass far too much.

The thing is we say Cips should play to conditions, 2 seasons ago we played in terrible rain against Ulster and battered them 4 tries to none, Cips at the helm of some outrageous passing.

I reckon it's more Cips is just out of form.

I don't think Cips is fully fit.

Given all that has happened around Caroline Flack, I cannot think that Danny is in a good place right now.

And this shows the danger of building a team around a player so unique. When he's injured or out of form then your screwed.

Just to be clear I'd still have him in my team any day, but it does show why England for example don't pick him.
