Irrespective of how it will effect the modern game, it’s clear that fundamental changes will have to be made to safeguard players going forwards.

Two interesting stats from the article:

“Some studies suggest professional rugby players may be exposed to 11,000 contact events per season.”

and

“According to the RFU, 20% of all concussions at a professional level occur in training.”

I'd say Harlequins are probably ahead of the curve in this respect.
