Wasps head coach Lee Blackett to BBC Radio CWR:

"It's a disappointing night and a disappointing result. Two points, we will take - but we didn't want two points from this game, we wanted at least double that, if not five.

"I think we are going to go home and have a difficult weekend reflecting on that game.

"We were poor in the first half - we were very, very sloppy with the ball and I thought defensively we were too soft. There were a few guys playing slightly out of position but that's not an excuse.

"You've got to give credit to the boys the way they fought back and we had an opportunity - a three v two down the edge but our skill level on those edges let us down."

Lee is going to have to make some tough calls over coming weeks and months about who will continue the journey with us and which players will need to be thanked for their service but ultimately let go. Injuries have likely delayed departures, but in the harsh light of day we have some players who are not good enough to make the next step. Professional sport can be cruel, and they will always be Wasps, but we need to build a team that can win things, and with that we cannot be soft as the wage cap won’t allow for carrying players who can’t make the journey. I think Lee and his coaches will already know this.

Yes, you’d have to think as a result of injuries/emerging alternatives that the likes of Minozzi, Mills and Watson could be question marks. Personally I’d stick with Watson.

Think the three you name have to be unlikely participants next season. None have really spent more time on the pitch compared to the medical table.

Agreed. I had totally forgotten Mills was still in the squad.
