Now Leicester want Edward's. WRU refused to release him now to help with their season end. But says they might come back for him. No mention of Wasps. No other rumours for us apart from Watson declining to join England 7s to stay with Wasps for another year.

Rather depressing, for my money.
We really need a coach, there are not many out there.
For my money guys like Watson re signing is all well and good but unless we are going to be promoting from the academy, and we have not seen much indication of that in Dai's match day squads, we are still a little short in one or two positions.

While Shaun would be my first pick I can think if one or two others I'd be happy to see coaching at Wasps next season.

Apparently, Leicester have hired Mike Ford on a short term contract as a senior coach with immediate effect.

Yes the article said that but just the thought they are interested!
Ford has been present in the stands there so it doesn't stretch the imagination much to guess his involvement.

Wonder how Murphy feels about Ford’s appointment. Murphy was given the job, has some experienced coaches around him and now they’ve brought in Ford and thinking about Cheika for next year.

Probably sees the writing on the wall. No chance to take time to build his team gradually.  Sadly becoming very like football as a results based sport although not as bad as Toulons owner.

Would Edwards want to be the head honcho, the DoR, or the head coach?

I've never met him but I suspect he would like control over the machinations of the squad rather than the press, accounts, board meetings, quotas etc... or is it time for him to try his luck at running an international team..

Or will he go back to league? League has a very narrow window for opportunity and I'm not sure how the pay scales are balanced?

I saw something on twitter yesterday suggesting that some point soon, Dai will have to leave and we can move on.

Dai has been our coach for the most challenging period of our professional existence and proven to be equally as adept at both ends of the table, so would we really want a huge change in coaching staff?

Imo I would love to see Dai and Shaun work together for a few years to try get us some silverware and bed in our new players/youngsters, with Shaun’s defence and Dais desire to play attacking rugby it would be quite the combination.

I could then see Dai leaving for other opportunities (maybe national team) with Edwards and Blackett stepping up. Seems like a logical transition.

I have wondered about Dai and Edwards working together. When the possibility presented itself in 2011 Edwards appeared to walk away from the club- I imagine we will only find out what happened when a autobiography is released in years to come.

Edwards is a big, big name, massive stock. It is hard to envisage them both in the same set up, but not impossible.
If not Edwards then who?
Instant obvious choices would be Worzle, King, but only on past assiciation with the club. It might have worked out for Man United, but Tigers have not done so well with their club legend in charge. Anyway, would not both players be looking for a step up the ladder?
