VPN Question for the Knowledgeable
« on: September 09, 2020, 09:51:43 AM »
It is many years since I had a subscription to a dubious VPN to download totally illegal music so kind of not bother for a decade or more.

With a VPN is it possible to get feeds for Pro 14/16 and Top 14 rugby?

Simple really.

A VPN can make it appear that you're browsing from a different location / country.

So, the real question is.... Is there a way to stream those games providing you're in a specific country ?
If so, then a combination of that streaming service plus a VPN will give you what you're after.

I know there's a couple of good rugby streaming services.
I've used NBC gold and it's great for the premiership, but I don't think it shows other leagues
Rugby Pass is another. I think that shows a lot more competitions, but others here will be able to confirm exactly which ones

I think you may need to vary where your VPN is 'pretending' that you are, but is RugbyPass what you need?

I am not sure if you have to sign up for a specific Zone, or whether their computers work out what you can see based solely on the VPN location.

I use a VPN for streams that I want to keep reasonably hidden.

I would also use one if I tried nbc/rugbypass but I'm not sure on which vpns work well enough for these. I will say, the company I use seemed to reliably work for the bbc etc when I needed it, which is encouraging.

I bought a lifetime subscription for a ridiculously good price, so I'm very happy.

Think I got it for a bit less, but regardless, that's still a good price: https://stacksocial.com/sales/vpn-unlimited-lifetime-subscription?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=1869636674&utm_term=vpn&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpIXD8dvb6wIVWeJ3Ch1YewlBEAAYASAAEgLuIvD_BwE

Thanks for that info. When I get to my main computer I will have a delve.

As I said I used it back in the pre adsl days and was fully aware that from week to week it would go down and pop up in another US state to avoid close downs. As you note it is a tad more professional nowadays.
