There needs to be better accountability for these abusers.
Sport is very emotive and as fans we can be incredibly passionate at times and much like players on the pitch, can overstep the mark. In the past few weeks with the racial abuse of a number of footballers and now abuse (I don't think it was racial?) of Umaga it's becoming far too prevalent and i'd like to see the Government help regulate Social Media better.
I'm not sure of the answer, as whilst there's plenty of technology out there to validate someone's identity quickly and easy there's a balance here, as a lot of discussion on Social Media can be very political and so i'm not sure that as much as i'd like to see people have their identity validated being a pre-requisite of Social Media use it's realistic and could be done without abuse from the Tech companies, or Governments.
Reminds me of Haskell's story about being abuse by a bunch of teenagers, who phoned the Headmaster to explain the situation and asked to come in and meet the boys (without them knowing) to chat to them about the impacts of it all.
Freedom of speech is one thing, using it to abuse others is another.
