Champions Cup Next Season?
« on: April 25, 2021, 07:19:31 PM »
Stuart Hooper is quoted by the Beeb in his post match interview as saying: "As far as I'm aware a top-eight place will secure a Heineken Champions Cup spot for next season and we still have to play a number of sides above us so we can improve our position."

I thought it was top 6. Can anyone cast any light on this as we are 9th in the table on 36 points and we have Irish, Bath and Tigers above us within touching distance.

I thought he mentioned same in game, just thought he had got it wrong . I know they are trying to get the SA teams included in euros games, maybe a deal is being done to sweeten prl and top 14

Heard that too plus quoted in interview afterwards.  Simon Halliday on Rugby Tonight said that this year's emergency process seemed to find favour with the fans. He also said no agreement yet reached on SA teams to enter the Pro 14+ therefore it is a while before decision on their potential involvement in Euro Champs. Also agreed between Leagues to keep running to 2030
