Wasps v Bath
3pm

Bath’s rejuvenation came to a standstill last week at Saracens while the Wasps pain train was delayed but thundered through Sandy Park.

Wasps took some serious firepower to Exeter and came away with a bonus-point victory.

While Lee Blackett’s healing side were a safe bet for victory, they required a try from Paolo Odogwu with the clock reading 84:50 to nick it from Chiefs by a single point. Wasps jumped above Exeter up to sixth as a result, and given the players missing from their rivals due to the Six Nations, it is feasible that the Coventry club can buzz their way into the top four. They have now beaten Leicester, Saracens and Exeter in consecutive Premiership rounds and look the business.

They should have no problem closing the gap against Bath, who were bullied by Saracens yet again, but did not help themselves by missing 49 tackles — a match-high only equalled by Gloucester this season.

This is Wasps’ best run of form since they reached the 2020 Premiership final but they need to make sure of one thing if they are to beat Bath: score at least 18 points. In their past 12 matches against Bath, Wasps have won on every occasion they’ve scored 18 or more points, but lost every time they’ve failed to reach that mark.

Surely we just need to score one point more than Bath?
