Crikey, Mills doesn’t do short term does he. Another few weeks out. Surely a new contract for him is simply not feasible.

I hope we use this weekend to try out some combos rather than resting people.

For example, I would like to see Porter, Jacob and Charlie as our 9,10,12 combo.  Keep Spink in at 13 to give him the gametime and then let’s see Mehson, Paolo and Ali as our Back 3.

They've just had a week off and all of them have had enough games out through suspension or injury (Perhaps not Charlie) to not be so fatigued that we need to rest them.

I do worry that he will be here again next season. The phrases used by Wasps, bigging him up, give me that sense of foreboding.

I said it when his name was a rumour, after he was signed, and time and time again since. He is made of glass. You can be as good as you want on paper, but if you can't get on the grass, you are just so much huff and puff.

As far as I'm aware Charlie isn't a 12. Not saying never, but not yet.

Completely agree with this, every time is name is mentioned around injury it is followed by details of him being a class act or a leader in the group etc.
Sure he’ll be with us next year

That's kind of my point.  But he has the right attributes in many ways.  Use this weekend to test a new combination.  With Jimmy off, Mills continually crocked and many not fancying Booj as Odendaal's back-up it would be interesting to see how Charlie goes at 12.  He's a bigger physical presence than Jacob, has a decent step/turn of pace, hits harder than he should.  Good distribution and can kick.

Jacob has the greater ability to play what he sees but concentration is his biggest issue.

I suspect it's more likely we'll do something like Wolstenholme, Miller, Le Bourgeois at 9, 10, 12 just to rotate and we'll learn absolutely nothing new.

It’s a shame Hartley is out as it would have been great to get him some more minutes in the 12 shirt.
Don’t think Simonds is back yet either.

13 could be interesting too as Fekitoa might not be ready yet, Spink could probably do with a break as could Odogwu and there isn’t really another option. Mehson maybe? Not sure Maasi-White is quite there yet.
Could be Mills and Booj in the centres which wouldn’t be a great watch.

Hope a couple of the U20s might get a shot. Alfie Bell only got about a minute of the bench last time if I remember correctly

I think Simonds is back, he's been on loan at Nottingham. Might see Theo if Bedford release him back to us.

Simonds is playing on loan, so we could well see him back.

I'd like to see more of Maasi-White too, and Mehson. Crossdale needs a run if fit. As does Booj if he's going to be more involved in the run in without Mills.

Now that would be a novel idea

Mills and Booj. Sounds more like a romance. I’d play as close to the Saints 15 as possible - get out there and fix it.
