The French seem to have short but very wide guys in the front row. Demba Bamba being a cracking example!
Didn't do their u20s any favours when they played England this season though, they got absolutely demolished in the scrum!

BG, I don't think it's that simple these days, especially with the pre-engagement at the scrum. I think it's much harder for the smaller man to use lack of height as an advantage

I think you'll find that to be an exception rather than the rule.
If you look at all of our tight head props this season, I think they're all about 6'2 or 6'3.

It's also a matter of units, no good being a short prop, if your hooker and tighthead can't get down almost as low as you.
