Without 12 viable clubs - we're risking people like Wray just steamrolling the Prem. The current model is seemingly fragile and the sale of rights is nothing but a short term and possibly misguided strategy
We have the RFU who it seems have little grasp on financial matters suggesting the Prem is potentially in some danger
Perhaps we merge with LI and move back to London!
From what I know and have read, the club and the stadium are intrinsically linked in terms of the way the business is structured, therefore a move away from The Ricoh is unlikely.
If Wasps did leave Coventry by whatever mechanism, Who would buy the stadium? CCFC may perhaps come back if Wasps were prepared to almost gift it to SISU, again unlikely. There was some Twitter and other noise around a merger with Coventry RFC, that creates a larger entity that at face value is sensible but again unlikely as it will still leave 13 clubs to pull the ladder up and make a difficult fixtures scenario, one club having a break every fixtures week, therefore prolonging the season.
When I look at this it seems to be a supposition and social media noise and is probably a rumour that has gone viral. Probably founded on the fact that all of the Premier 13 clubs need to be growing the game together in terms of revenues and appeal if the league is to survive. If ringfencing is back on the table then the odd number of teams is an issue, albeit not one that can't be dealt with but it is there nevertheless, and creates a logistical problem with an already challenging fixture landscape.
Or perhaps another Saffa team looks to start playing in Europe and England, now there's a thought...furious anger breaks out in the Championship!
