One of the many Welsh players from an era when my Dad had to put up with banter from Welsh mates but was just pleased, as was I, to see real genius. Even when it was to our cost!

Able to do under 10.7 for 100m and similarly fast over 200m, he's the sort of player most recently seen when our Mr Wade or Shame Williams graced a rugby field. JJ had the pace, the swerve and the step and must have been a 'mare to defend and would have easily made a modern Wales team and would have enhanced their play

A real loss for the rugby family.
