I've seen that London Scottish have pulled out and Ampthill are crowdfunding due to the Government bailout being loans, not grants.

I really feel for the championship. Between funding and ring fencing, they have been hung out to dry . This should have been a year where they could have had bumper gates against Sarries.

Some way will be found to promote the cheats. You can guarantee it. If the Championship is allowed to go it leaves the game in a perilous state. I bet most prem squads have large amounts of players who've come via that route not to mention coaches. Where are they going to play/come from. I do feel like the Championship has been hung out to dry. But if you neglect your foundations the whole house can come down.

Was Fowkes only temporary? I didn’t realise.

Clearly, it means Trailfinders come up. After all, they beat Sarries in a competitive (ie not a friendly) fixture. Doncaster Knights coming up too as they too beat Sarries, to make it a 14 Team League.

...Of course, as a PRL Shareholder they’ll come up without having played a competitive fixture. I wonder what the maximum number of teams that could be accommodated would be?

Pirates and Trailfinders both have premiership aspirations. Which makes 15 who would genuinely like to get to the Prem and have plans to sustain themselves re: Stadia etc...

The speculation is that 6 teams could/ would still compete. So can still have a league with play off at end.

Cov, Bedford, Nottingham, Richmond and Cornish Pirates already declared this week they will take part in addition presumably to the 3 already playing, London Scottish out, Ampthill looking unlikely. Jersey and Hartpury seem not to have declared yet.

if some clubs pull out it makes a shorter season so easier to fit in with a later start. let those that want to play it out with the winner promoted. The Premiership shouldn't be ring fenced everyone knew what the system was for games lost to Covid before we started so just get on with it. when you look at it we haven't lost that many games to Covid and the positive results in rugby seem to be going down, hopefully we will lose even less games.
