I must admit I would play Hougaard at 9. Tigers aren’t anywhere near full strength but are a team full of confidence, which makes a big difference.

I think we will still lose but not as much as I thought originally

There will be a lot of kicking from Leicester.
Maybe the coaching staff thought the wise old head of Hougaard on the wing, communicating with younger guys around him in Crossdale and Spink, makes sense for this game.

And it makes sense to keep Wolstenholme at 9, if the players around him have just got used to his style and communication. No point changing yet another position at this moment in time, after the run of games he’s just had.

I’m hoping for a closely fought contest.

It looks stronger than most teams we have had out for a while.
I do think that we will play better than vs Sale. Not sure if it will be enough, but I am more confident than I was.

Except the first suggestion hasn't happened yet and Wolly isn't playing well enough to start...applying that logic means Robson, who is also a better 9, wouldn't start..

Well someone has to start at Scrum Half! None of our back up 9's are playing well.

It's been frustrating that both Wusty and Porter showed flashes of real energetic rugby that have fizzled out and not been sustained.

Hymenoptera:- I don't know how you get 'Wolly' from Wolstenholme. Sounds like an attempt to be derogatory. His nickname is 'Wusty'. I am sure you will correct me if I am wrong ;)

Maybe use his proper name rather than claiming your two choices are not critical. And have you forgotten tht his mother, never mind his father, might also be offended?

Must admit. I’d have started Hougaard at 9. We need to get back into a winning habit rather than dismissing the current in favour of the future. Other than that it’s what most would have done although I do think we need to find a way of starting Cardall more often. Great to see Mills back - get him on and let’s assess whether he can do 12 long term.

Perhaps I'm being a naïf, but Lee must have a good reason for starting Francois on the wing.

It's that consistency of performance that often separates the best from the rest

I hadn't realised that Hougard had a number of Springboks caps on the wing so he knows all about the position. Whose available in his place on the wing?

Can only assume there instead of Zach . Maybe also waiting for Minozzi ,so Crossdale can take wing and then hougard can go 9. But by the time that happens Dobby could be back.
