In reality Wasps took a huge gamble bringing another prospect from NZ. Its no surprise to me he came on a 1+1 after players like Leiua, and Sopoaga. The fact that he has hit the ground running and actually met his potential makes it no surprise he's been offered more than we could match by a team not constrained by the same cap as us.

Does Fifita qualify for Tonga now putting him in the same boat as Fekitoa and potentially losing him for International windows next season?

Compared to rumoured new SA lock who would be available all year?

Searching for positives 😁

For me Fifita is a “nice player to have”. Whereas I’d class having people like Koch, Launchbury, Fekitoa, Willis, West as players that can take you to the next level. You need a lot of Fifita’s but you can’t afford them to be your top earners.
+1

I’ve pleasantly surprised at his application since he’s arrived as well as his undoubted skills and pace. But if it’s a straight choice between him and Koch then there’s only one winner.

Not if Scotland or England come calling as he’s qualified for both I believe

I am very upset to switch on to this news. Absolutely outstanding and versatile, good fitness for us too.
Very hard to take.

That's a very good way of putting it.

Can guess what a lot of the prematch chat and Lee’s interview questions will be about .

Hope Fifita is made man of match ( small chance) to hear his side.

No chance of Fifita being man of the match now... https://twitter.com/WaspsRugby/status/1480162442747342849?t=SSzbnMRLtFITquWmJCykOA&s=19

FFS can we stop getting injuries for just one week. For me that’s game done, 100% we will get smashed in the scrum

FWIW: illness not injury, according to Bobby.

Thanks for pointing it out but it just seems to be everything at the moment, not much fun being a wasps fan at the moment. Was really looking forward to this game but now it’s looking likely 1 from 9

Well, Fifita may have a nasty bout of diplomatic flu, but I'll miss Tom West.

Some desperate attempts at spin here. This is a massive blow, he is an outstanding player. Doesn't matter having Cardall, Theo and A. N. Other Saffa, quantity doesn't overcome quality.

It doesn't bode well that he is obviously being cut loose.

The only small positive is that this is a situation that's going to affect the whole league and so its harder for other Prem clubs to swoop in. As a whole i think players will have to accept lower deals
