However, Quins suddenly stopped attacking on 75 minutes and tried kicking it away for 5 minutes to go. Fatal. They did what Wasps do, try to defend and keep the lead. It doesn't work. It isn't in their DNA, it isn't in ours.

That pass was forward to me. In  the circumstances, Tempest should not have said his on field decision was a try. Criteria for calling it off were entirely different.

Exeter win it at the death. Clear forward pass spotted by TMO, but Tempest claims that forward isn't forward because of the direction of the hands. When did the direction of the ball stop being a thing? And before anyone trots out the flawed logic of forward momentum when the player is travelling at speed, Hogg was pretty much stationary when he made the pass.

I don't think anyone other than Tempest thought that pass wasn't forward. Quins robbed.

What annoys me most about the whole forward pass thing, is that if a player throws the ball marginally backwards but the wind blows it forward, then it's still a good pass because it came out if the hands backwards


But if a hooker throws the ball down the middle of a lineout but the wind blows it off course, then it's not straight

I’d be fuming if I were a Quins fan. I might have imagined it but Tempest seemed extremely keen to give it. It was clearly forward as the TMO was rightly telling him but he just cut him dead. Very strange indeed.

He shot himself in the foot by awarding the try without thinking, then the TMO had to give him a cast iron reason NOT to award the try. At the other end, he actually mused, before awarding the try, that he should NOT award it until the TMO had looked. A brain fart. Not unusual for Tempo. He was clearly puffing after the run, and obviously wanted to get inside and go home.
