I was think more that the lack or reduction in TV money would be the biggest issue if there was only a reduced prem or champ/prem merger without the bigger teams.
If a bunch of breakaway clubs leave the Prem/RFU with most of the best players, you would expect the RFU sanctions would be not to select those players
The only bit of pro rugby that makes any money in England is the International game. How would that be impacted if the England side was selected from champ & left over Prem clubs who couldn't or didn't want to break away? Less money to spread around those clubs that are left
Plus what would CVC who own a chunk of the prem think & what action would/could they take?
