Another nail in the coffin

Word on the street is that Birmingham City FC are now permanently resident at the EPIC.

So now any future Wasps doesn't even have a training centre to be based from.

Guys, it needed to be used. We are not looking good at returning anytime soon, thus mothballing the facility is not good business no matter what are personal thoughts are.

Personally with the news, perhaps any Phoenix of our club may occur at our home roots. No reason to stay in the midlands now the training base has gone.

Agreed Wombles.  It's a kick in the teeth but from a financial point of view it doesn't make sense to have the Epic sitting there doing nothing but  costing money.

We don't exist so I can't see the relevance. We cannot come back at the moment.

With the demise of 3 clubs and others potentially getting close to the sticky stuff, my current feeling is, that we are down the abyss with very little hope of climbing out.

I feel with more clubs involved the RFU have to be seen for any return to be equitable to all situations which as you say makes it less likely.

Do Birmingham have money to buy EPIC, thought they were in financial strife with a stadium in need of significant investment?

IIRC The EPIC is not technically anything to do with Wasps, its owned by a different company that is owned by Chris Holland.
If he can make a (quickish) profit by selling it to a footie club, then he will do so. What would be the point in keeping it anway?

If Wasps play at level 10 next year they won't need a professional level state of the art training centre anyway, a local park covered in dog sh1t & used needles will be perfectly adequate.

And if Wasps do get a there near the top again the EPIC will no longer be state of the art.

I take it the insinuation is that it was his plan all along? Difficult to plan for what happened to BCFC though surely? It all seems to have quiet on his Atlas loan?

As tenants or owners? I haven't seen anything official anywhere. As tenants I can understand.

last I saw they were looking to extend their time there to allow the rebuild at their own training ground
