Apparently, Mark Robins is hopeful that Coventry City’s future at the Ricoh Arena will be sorted out in time for Sunday’s last home game of the season for the Sky Blues. (Coventry Telegraph)

It’s understood to be a relatively complicated process which involves City’s chief executive Dave Boddy for the football club and Wasps chiefs, as well as lawyers on each side thrashing out the small print. (Coventry Telegraph)

I would think the second extract is a bit of an understatement, particularly as I would expect Boddy's hands are tied very firmly behind his back ;)

Can't big big long term negotiations with only Boddy. He is just a mouthpiece.

I notice the hobbits on SBT have found that the Ricoh are selling them parking next season. Apparently a recent addition. Loads of back slapping and some thanking SISU- beggars belief.

Simon Gilbert has just tweeted that the deal will be finalised and announced this week.

As long it has legally tied down caveats that SISU will never restart the legals.

Maybe I'm reading too much into the tweet but why should there be "optimism" from Wasps side? Surely it should be CCFC being optimistic that they have somewhere to play next season. Is Simon Gilbert tied to CCFC ?

Simon has many 'contacts' within Wasps, yes. The optimism might be because Otium have agreed to drop all legals (they are the legal entity that the action is in the name of), which might open the way for Wasps to do a naming rights deal for the stadium. It is would also bring an end to legal costs. In turn, SISU might, at last, decide to sell up and go. Lots to be optimistic about I would say.

The length of the agreement is what interests me rather than the legals issue.  Another 1 or even 2 year deal means that the can is just being kicked down the road in terms of having CCFC as a long term tenant.  Having them sign for 5+ years will allow us to actually develop a partnership with them to improve what we earn on any Sponsorship and Catering deals.

If it's only Boddy we're talking to, I doubt he has the authority to do a long term deal. I'd expect another 1 year, perhaps with a rolling option sort of thing.

If its a 1 yr deal then we'll know that things haven't been properly resolved.

If its a 5 yr deal then that might make CCFC a better investment for someone to take it off SISU's hands

Latest (Monday midday) from Coventry Live:

But with just one more match left before the season ends - and a warning from the club that a deal at the Ricoh Arena will need to come quickly in order to keep a groundshare option open - everyone is poised for news on when an announcement will come.

CoventryLive understands there will be no news today on the talks.

But a decision is believed to be coming this week, according to BBC sources.

Very interesting take Nelly, I hadn't considered this angle.

Fingers crossed then all legals are dropped and both parties can begin to plan long term.

I hope these negotiations have no resemblance to the ever-lasting Brexit ones.
Wasps seem to have the right route in being firm that they will negotiate with threats of further court action - but showing a willingness to help CCFC.

Might me a short term deal just to run over the deadline for further court action with an option for a longer term deal providing the new partnership seems to be going to plan
