John beat me to the link!

Four players are set to pull on the Wasps jersey for the first time as the men in Black and Gold prepare for this weekend’s Premiership Rugby 7s at Franklin’s Gardens (Friday 13 and Saturday 14 September).

Summer signings Ben Vellacott, Zach Kibirige and Paolo Odogwu will make their first outings for Wasps, as will new Senior Academy forward Thibaud Flament.

First-team back Ross Neal and Academy graduates Tim Cardall, Gabriel Oghre, Will Porter, Jacob Umaga and Callum Sirker are also in the squad.

Senior Academy back-row Will Wilson will captain the 7s team with Vellacott and Porter named as vice-captains.

Extended Academy back Sunni Jardine will also feature as Wasps prepare to battle Bath Rugby and Leicester Tigers on Friday evening, before heading into Saturday’s Plate or Cup competition.

Wasps will be looking to make their fifth consecutive Cup final in the competition, after winning the tournament in 2016 and 2017.

Tickets for this festival of rugby are available from the Northampton Saints ticket office – please visit www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/buytickets to book.

I will be there for both days. I am planning to get there about 4:30PM on Friday on my motorbike. If you see me, say 'Hi'. As all bikers are anonymous on their bikes, this is Daddy's L'il Monster:

Blimey he's a big unit. Not exactly the ideal size for 7's. I wonder what path he followed that took from Paris to Loughborough?

Maybe he is quite fast? Also, with him on the field, we are likely to win the lineouts, yes?

Only 110kg, Myall was apparently one of the fastest in the squad a few years ago, with Simpson, Varndell etc. Not got the acceleration, but once those big strides get going...

I was hoping to see Umaga start against Sarries, but if he's a part of sevens that may be unlikely.... But he may be on the bench? Given Vellacott, Sirker and Neal are also in sevens, I was expecting one or 2 of those to be in the 23 to face Sarries.

Couple of highlight videos of Flament on YouTube. Looks like the second row we signed in the summer (who ironically I think was Loughborough as well) in being tall and slight. Surprising selection for 7s but also an interesting prospect.

Just watched them. No slouch that's for sure. Not the fast acceleration of a back, but those long legs give me a good top speed. Off loading is good, and he doesn't look to run in to tackles a la Charlie Matthews, but instead moves into gaps.
