Wonder if our young Frenchman will be elevated from the Senior Academy to the main squad - certainly is getting game time enough.

At this rate of progress he will be called up by France for the 6N

I see he's quoted as being 6.7 and 6.8 on the same page of the Wasps site and 203 cms on the Loughborough site. I can't imagine many fly-halves that tall. Mike Phillips always seemed too tall to be a scrum half for Wales.

That's a great line up. Must have been close between Carr and Vailanu. Suppose Carr covers all back row for you. Looking forward to it.

One or two slight surprises to my mind- thought Carr would make starting, but then we actually have a choice this year, a situation that won't last long no doubt.

Bench looks unusually strong after last year's anaemic offerings.

Nice to look forward to the "proper" rugby.
Safe travels to all, as ever.

I like our team but I won't underestimate the Irish - I have been at too many tough games against them!

We have great options for rotatio and we have even mentioned Reider!!!

Nice to see the Irish board think they could have us. Our backs are less stellar than previous seasons and they have it at half back. Interesting and hope they are wrong.

Well if they are right it might be a long season. That said opening season wins for promoted sides are not uncommon.

Healey made the point yesterday that Irish have had a tendency to start strong. Really looking forward to a very competitive league and being back at the  Ricoh. Didn’t manage to make any of the Prem Cup games. Nice to have a weekend of rugby back...

Spoilt for choice this weekend between the Prem games and RWC QFs
