Wasps and match day programs- telegraph
« on: November 14, 2019, 10:03:27 AM »
Found this today, could not see a thread for it.
It contains an interview with chief exec SV, and Jimmy G about tech. with a focus on 5G.

I love the way they talk of a laptop at half time to determine our second half tactics.
Given our recent performances, one must wonder about the exact content of said laptop. I will leave you to make your own jokes up, as mine will result in an avalanche of downvotes and groans.

Just the place for the caution "This contains graphic content that may be upsetting..."?

I suspect this is a thinly disguised editorial advertisment for Vodaphone.

I can't see that 5G (compare to 3G/4G or their internal wifi) would changed the use of food/drinks apps or even an online program at the stadium.

Would they be allowed to stream clips during the game?  BT might have something to say against that .. I'm guessing they would be allowed to stream anything shown on the big screen internally through the internal WiFi inside the stadium (but whats' the point.. everyone inside the stadium can see the screen anyway).

Showing realtime clips over 5G implies through the internet but that would allow people away from the stadium to potentially view clips as the match progresses.. and I'm sure that would infringing BT tv rights.

Matchday program - I never buy one - I get all the information from the website, which is going to be more up to date than the programme anyway.

Producing it must also be a major hassle for the club as well. I wonder how many they sell and does the sales revenue actually cover the printing and manpower costs of producing it

I reckon that laptop is on dial up...that would explain the tactics.

I thought the laptop might be full of porn, as recently our second halves have been a pile of wank.
I will get my coat.
