Next six?
« on: December 09, 2019, 08:00:34 PM »
We're probably all agreed that our next batch of Prem fixtures are going to be absolutely crucial. If we take the next six that takes us to halfway. We face Quins, Saints and Sarries at home and Bristol, Wuss and Tigers away. How many points do we need and how many will we get. I reckon we'll get 5 v Quins, 4 v Saints 0 v Sarries, 1 v Bristol, 4 v Wuss and 4 v Tigers. Very speculative of course but that would give us 18.

For what it's worth;

4 vs. Quins
0 vs. Saints
0 vs. EAs
1 vs. Bristol
4 vs. Warriors
4 vs. Tigers

So 13 best case, and,  I would be very nervous about Tigers....
It was fine when I left it.....

4 vs. Quins (we just have to)
4 vs. Saints (I'm not on the hype train yet, keep Nayavoro quite and we can win this)
0 vs. EAs (6 nations but they are our anti team)
1 vs. Bristol (Wouldnt be surprised with a win but as its at Ashton and on friday so LBP)
1 vs. Warriors (Playing well, wouldn't be surprised at a loss)
4 vs. Tigers (6 nations period)

12 for me.

I make that 14 - have you considered a job with Sarries.  :)

Haha...touche

Sadly, important as our fixtures, are that of Tigers. Fancy having a stab at those?

H vs Exeter - 0
A vs Quins - 1
H vs Bristol - 4
A vs Bath - 1
H vs Wasps - 1
A vs Sale - 0

7 for me

Yeah, wouldn't be far off that myself. Bath can be a funny one as they can sometimes implode but being at The Rec I'd just about go with them.

For us yes (and I’ll be there in my Black and Gold) but fortunately Tigers will be taking a trip to the rec

This season is frustrating stop/start thanks to the world cup late start and the euro weekends - looking forwards to when we can settle in to a run of week to week premiership.

Judging by the way we have started this season it is difficult to predict beyond the next game. If we can find a way to win vs Quins then that sets us up for the possibility of another LBP or two from that run of fixtures. Can overstate how important this game is.

If you're asking me to bet my last 50p then I can't see anything more than 2 - 5 points from that run of games.

I'll have a pint of whatever you're having please!  ;)  I'd be surprised and delighted in equal measure if we pull off all of those.

Happy with 4 v Quins, and think this is crucial to stop the rot a bit.  Hopefully we can find 2 wins from Saints, Wuss and Tiggers, but hard to see us getting anything against Bris or $arri€$ other than the odd losing BP.  Unless we see a stark improvement in our back play then I think try BPs will be few and far between sadly.  Optimistically 14 points, but more likely 10-11.

Going to the Saints game with a Saints supporting mate, so fingers crossed for that one.  And it would obviously be particularly pleasing to stick it up the EAs, but that's just wishful thinking. (Remember Valentine's Day 2016!)

4 vs. Quins (Lose this and we will be in trouble)
1 vs. Saints (Not expecting a win as they are in good form)
0 vs. EAs (Would rather we boycotted on principle)
1 vs. Bristol (Friday night lights at Bristol will be a tough one I think)
1 vs. Warriors (This one is hard to call and I think will depend on whether any momentum from wins is made)
4 vs. Tigers (Just have to win. No question about it)

11 points for me

Think we will lose to Quins, Saints, EA.
Think we will beat Bris away, Tigers away.
Not sure about Warriors, suspect a L.

We'll get 3 points from the next six games and get relegated.

Goodbye.

Not sure how anything will change.
Nowhere could I find in this interview with the forwards coach any hint of self reflection by the coaches. No thought that maybe there are learning for the coaching team, that they might need change tack....it just hints of giving the players a rollocking to try harder.
So disheartening.

Wrong thread, this is a light hearted points prediction thread...an attempt at lifting some gloom
