Ricoh Pitch

Did anyone else notice a huge chunk of the pitch being torn up?

Is the plastic under-weave finally giving way.

Lifted badly during a scrum on Wasps 5m line in 2nd half just before Saints' 4th try.  A section of turf about 2m sq rolled up like a carpet.

I guess the TV cameras missed the sight of the groundsman struggling to move the uplifted turf while Biggar was lining up the conversion before Jimmy Gopperth came to his aid and dragged it back into place.  A few minutes later he went over for his try.  There is no end to the man's talents!

Yes, that was amusing with Gopperth shifting turf about. In retrospect we should have left it curled up as Nayovaro might have tripped over it rather than going over for his try.

I know we should have been respecting the kicker, but it was funny as we all cheered on the groundsman with a 'HEAVE' as he tried to pull the turf back into place.

I seem to remember that when the new pitch was laid, there was a comment that the specific type of pitch wouldn't roll up like a carpet....

Did I imagine that?
