Not at all surprised that he's aiming for France.

Damn shame, but not surprising and totally understandable for the lad to want to enhance his international prospects.

My French is non-existent and I can’t see how to translate. Is this confirmed or just rumour/speculation can somebody tell me? A real b..tard if confirmed.

Using google translate the final sentence is the interesting one.

According to our information, nothing has yet been signed between Toulouse and the non-JIFF player.

The fact he is a non-Jiff player means he takes one of the squads non-Jiff slots which cuts down on their future opportunities.

Don't have time to go through all the comments on the story as already bored of cut and paste after a few, but some interesting comments about Jiff status, especially one comment about the Clermont academy in the Pacific Islands.

It says they've got an agreement in principal though. Also says a replacement for Richie Gray, so is this 1 non-JIFF replacing another so no change for them?

To be fair, can hardly blame him, French lad proves he can play and goes to France to further career? The way it's meant to be done isn't it?

Can (could) he still play for France if he was based at Wasps?

I get that but he's no Richie Gray yet, not to say he can't be better eventually but he isn't there yet so if that is Toulouse's plan it's a risk.

I hope he doesn't go as he does have a lot of potential. As Wasps took a risk on him it would be very disappointing if he walked away, but he is French so the chance to go back home is a big pull, especially as he would be on decent money rather than an academy contract.

Wasps didn't take much of a risk in him though, did they.

Under £30k per year salary, and essentially just another body to fill in when injuries decimate us.
We just got lucky that he was good

And unfortunately we cannot upgrade him from Academy to Fisrt Team Squad midseason. It is our misfortune that he is good. Actually would think he could be close to being in contention in the Player of the Year awards.

We could offer him a decent contract for next season though to keep him. He'll be on £30k max now.. maybe bump him up to 90 - 100. I doubt the lure of living in France is that big as he seems to be a bit of a nomad

Does he have a degree to finish off at Loughborough or did he complete that last season?
