Other successful players from the Southern Hemisphere: Flutey, van Gisberger, Stuart Abbot, Ian Jones, Craig Dowd. And the great South African second row who helped us avoid relegation. Name?

Worth noting that they were not all directly from the SH though,  some  like Jones, Flutey or Wentzel had a couple of seasons top flight NH experience, some like Abbot had at least some, all of which must help the transition.

Don't think anyone mentioned Nathan, oddly.

As an aside, I would be slightly surprised if the SH recruitment twenty years ago was down to the same guy it is today, of course, whoever made the original comment was probably referring to the last two years of Shields, Lima, JTA rather than Halai, Nathan et al. Btw, does anyone have any info on JTA's progress....?

I think the sentiments expressed by Joe here firmly put to bed any rumours that Dai had lost the support of the playing squad.

That can't be good news.

Or that Joe is out of touch of the opinions of the rest of the squad.

I think that is very unlikely.

Doubt it too - always thought Joe was especially close to Dai.

Without wanting to stir up too much negativity, is there a chance that Joe’s comment was referring to the fact that at the time Wasps hadn’t officially announced Dai’s departure.

I very much hope that there is nothing bad behind the scenes at the club.

Don't forget that Joe committed his future to the club under three months ago. I doubt he would have done that if he had any doubts about the club.
