Who plays if the season is extended?

Amongst the massive uncertainty surrounding the current season it seems likely that some sort of extension looks like the only way round it. If that goes ahead what happens to players whose contracts were up at the end of the original season? Presumably some sort of workaround will have to be put in to extend their contacts by default?

That's a good point. Perhaps some work around if they are staying in England could be found but for those off to foreign shores not so simple. Also, some players will have made plans for them and their families in the area of their new clubs, perhaps committing to buying hoses, selling their own, schools for children and the rest of the stresses of moving.
