New signing rumour - Sam Davies

Wales Online are reporting that 8 cap talented Dragons fly-half Sam Davies is being linked with Wasps (and Bath) after his failure to agree a significant pay cut.

I know very little about him to be honest. They say he may be replacement for Lima.

Does anyone know if this is likely?

Saw this. Its a strange one. If - if Lima was to be off at the end of this season I think it would have been known and Jimmy has re-signed for a while yet. Would he come to be Jacob's understudy.

Sam Davies... He's a potentially great player just lost his form and way over past few years. Was next big thing for Wales in 2017. I could see him going to bath for that reason alone.

Seem to recall him doing a lot of drop goals and really good in field kicks. Got a nifty side step. No idea what he is like at defence, and at 27, not sure. If he is leaving for money, we surely don't have any?

I'd take him as a replacement for Sopoaga. Unlikely to lose him to Wales as he doesn't have 60 caps. I can't imagine he'd cost the earth either.

True, Davis would be substantially less expensive than Sopoaga. But then again Sopoaga is showing form under Blackett, perhaps if he gets a couple starts he begins to show his worth... and Davis is not particularly in form at the moment. It would be an uphill battle experiment.

Either we keep an expensive, but good fly half who's starting to adapt to NH rugby, or try an inexpensive fly half who's not been good recently.

Would agree. If we have spare wage funds it can be better used for other positions.

Umaga and Charlie Atkinson will be the future at 10 for years and years to come I hope even though Atkinson is 18 it won’t be long before he gets his shot.

Not sure we need Davies for next season and even though Jimmy will probably retire and Lima I’m sure will be off at the end of next season, probably looking for a move to the Canes, an experienced head at a far cheaper price (compared to Lima) might be the preferential option.
