Teams Ups for Sale.

Lee Blackett has named his side for Wasps’ Gallagher Premiership Round 16 match with Sale Sharks at Ricoh Arena on Tuesday.

All but one of the starting fifteen that restarted Wasps’ Gallagher Premiership campaign against Northampton Saints a week ago, return to face Sale tomorrow night. The only change to that starting team sees the injured Kieran Brookes replaced by Jeff Toomaga-Allen. 

There is one potential Wasps debutant in the 23, as 18-year-old Wasps Senior Academy and England Under 18 fly-half Charlie Atkinson is named amongst the replacements.

Not bad. Sale team looks to be a halfway house but their bench is strong.

Strong team. Blackett obviously going for a two team scenario as far as possible with inevitable tweaks as we move through. Good to see Owlett involved. I did think he might mix it up a bit more with Bath away next (suppose he still might do). We're going to have to manage the game time of JTA, West and Oghre carefully.

Josh Bassett on teenage fly-half Charlie Atkinson.

He’s been involved with us through stage one, stage two and stage three. It’s really exciting for him as a young lad. He’s come in and taken it in his stride, straight out of school he’s been fantastic.

All the coaches, players and staff are really excited for him. He’s definitely earned his opportunity. He’s really stepped up in training.

For a young lad he is very level headed, bossing the big forwards around, doing all those things you should do.

The good thing for him is he can go out there and enjoy himself. His first game, hopefully getting in off the bench at the Ricoh, it’s so exciting for him as such a young lad.

Wow, these come thick and fast don't they?

Worried about some of the guys' legs. Cruse put a big shift in on Friday, J TA has done a fair bit too. I worry about our bench, it won us the game on Friday, but Mills has featured quit a lot and Vellacott looked absoltuetly done about 10 minutes before he was replaced Friday night. Worried we don't have as much oomph.

Sale have picked a clear 2nd choice team, but they're big and they'll be hungry, having seen the first choice team and supposed "stars" fail to deliver

Atkinson is Searle's replacement in the squad, so it makes sense to give him some game time. Looked v good in the 'junior' games we saw last season.
