Fans to be allowed in...
« on: August 26, 2020, 04:38:29 PM »
...to Quins game v Bath at the Stoop on 5th Sept.

Not sure why they got the nod ahead of anyone else, but they have to start somewhere, and at least it's an encouraging step for those of us desperate to get back to watching rugby.  Ricoh next??

Think Sale were engaged for a trial too. 4k fans is pretty paltry given the setup at twickers

I thought Wasps and Bristol were to be the trial stadia as they are so much larger. Be interesting to see how Friday goes at Murrayfield with a tiny crowd.

I've heard Wasps v Bristol is a potential for crowd trials round two.

It's at the Stoop, not over the road at HQ.

Wasps are apparently not taking further orders for "Fans at the game" picture, perhaps the sight of ED upset them, or could it be that there is a chance that real fans could be there?

If, as Marley suggested above, The Bristol game is being earmarked for a possible trial; and given that our final game against Exeter is not until 4th Oct, by which time things may have progressed (depending on the success of the test events), it may now be only the Leicester game that would be without fans in the Ricoh.

Interesting the discussions on twatter about who can attend the Quins v Saints game. Apparently those fans who gave the club their remaining games will get a free seat (fair), those who sought refunds will be able to purchase their seat at the going rate (up to 50 quids) (again fair) and no away fans (again I think fair as they have to travel). However with the attendance set at a low 4k Quins have about 9.5K STH so there has to be a ballot. Some suggesting that those who will get free tickets should be seated first which seems fair. At least we at the Ricoh have acres of space for our smallish number of STHs.

I reckon if the Ricoh goes ahead for fans it will be about 8K allowed in. Plenty to go around for every STH that wants to attend.

Suggestions are 4 to 5k but that may be high.

I suspect a fair few won't want to attend so early in the process.

1,000 fans will be allowed in for the Glaws v Quins game at Kingsholm next week.

Hope we hear something soon about the Ricoh.

So the two clubs with modern grounds the government roped into discussions (Wasps and Bristol) are ignored. Weird.
