Thanks for the link. Fingers crossed we get him because we will miss Beale.

Meh.  He could play in the A-team, like Frank, I suppose.

Oh, and .....  ;)

Dai has just confirmed that there will be no new marquee signings this year, unless a seriously good quality player comes knocking at a very affordable price. Read it here:

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/rugby/wasps-no-kurtley-beale-marquee-12937526

I guess the reality is, whoever WAS available isn't now (staying where they are), or someone is willing to spend what Wasps are not. That suggests that Wasps are not willing to pay such high salaries. Makes you wonder if they stayed in the race to force up other club's bids (and costs)? That would be sneaky.

Of course, Dai is leaving a very big door open to any decent player from the two SA and one Aussie sides that will be cut this year.

If this runs forward, Wasps will have to work a lot harder not to lose academy talent. We have lost a few good ones this year.

We all know that Kurtley Beale has said he is returning to Oz so he can play in the 2019 WC (Sep to Nov 2019 in Japan).

But on Rugby Tonight last night he said he wants to come 'back' after that. By back he meant to Wasps. I doubt he would get anywhere near the money (probably not even marquee), but would we want him? In Oz, the Super Rugby season is Feb to August, so the WC falls in their closed season. He has signed with Waratahs for two years, to August 2019. Makes you wonder what has passed between him and Dai recently ...

Oooh the intrigue!

I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall for those conversations.

To be honest I think if he wants to come back I'd always want him back.  He has real class and lifts the team.  So unless something significant changes we should snap him up if he's interested.

I'd have him back like a shot. Terrific player. B*ms on seats.
