Cordero and Cardall
« on: November 22, 2020, 08:01:49 AM »
Cordero told Wasps he is staying in France for at least two seasons.
Carell wanted by the Donkeys. Apparently not signed beyond end of this season. He apparently is looking for a 3 year deal. Quins and Worcester also interested.

Shame about Cordero, but he was perhaps cover in case Bassett leaves and we're looking early etc. Basically not the end of the world.

Cardall would be a seriously bad decision to let leave.

(Is it Cardall or Cardell? I had this problem with an old teacher)

Cardall - bloody early morning predictive.

Agree that somebody Launch rates highly should not be on the leave list.

Cardall - pronounced 'Cardle''.  I hope he stays with us, and doesn't follow Flament.

Noted that Tibo is now on the Toulouse lists as their No 6 lock.

Cardall may get more game time at Quins or Worcester but will he learn and develop as much there as he would at Wasps? From what I hear about the goings on in Gloucester it would be sensible to give them a wide berth.

Cardall has a clear line of progression at Wasps, and Joe is the best lock to learn from. His contract will be to fill Rowlands shoes, surely?

Hmmm
The fact that we're noticeably light at lock and he is still wanting to leave bothers me a bit.

I would say that a young promising 2nd row would be looking at the wasps squad thinking they'll get some serious game time

It needs to offered to him or he will surely be off.

I've been really impressed by Cardall - we really need to hang on to him.

Agree totally. Stability in both scrum and team is the key.

The only reason he's looking at other clubs is because he wants a 3 year contract which is a big commitment for any club to offer.

It depends how the Wasps "Extended Contracts" to many Wasps players is viewed by him. He is possibly asking why he was left out and with January fast approaching his agent is letting clubs know what he is looking for. Possibly Wasps missed a trick in signing him up or he wants to leave.
