If it is an uncontested promotion for you know who, then you’d expect Ealing (and others) would have a strong case to take legal action. There is no regulatory or lawful reason that could justify a non-merited promotion for them.

All they have to do, if ringfencing as proposed is deemed to be not legal, is for all 13 Clubs to resign from the PRL and set-up a new, ringfenced, league.

The RFU might, initially, decide to not recognise it, but with all the England players and the BT and CVC money they'll soon cave-in, otherwise it could lead to a pan-European club league answering only to itself.

All of the money made from the CVC deal is going to be spent buying off Ealing and the other promotion hopefuls.

You just wonder what the likes of Pirates, Coventry and etc feel about Ealing being talked of in this way. They are just recent (financial) upstarts. No better than the EAs really.

Speculation over whether this mini cup counts towards barbarians players ban , even cheekily suggesting forfeited game counts too!
 Surely a friendly or unofficial game wouldn’t count towards any banned players’ term?
