Highest paid players
« on: February 18, 2021, 04:23:23 PM »
Article from ruck listing top 3 earners from each premiership team. How accurate figures are open to speculation due to source, but I guess not far off.

Article is subject to clickbait but fortunately someone on shedweb put it onto one page

very interesting, but as you say, who knows about the accuracy, especially after the wage cuts early in the pandemic.

Lima's wages seem higher that was mooted at the time of his signing, but that may have all been surmise anyway.

Glozza's top two seem very low, I assume some of their higher earners left & they haven't been replaced? May mean they have room for some major signings?

Well there's £720k back in the coffers haha. TBF we have two good 10s at with Jimmy so maybe we split the money and redistribute cash.

I really cannot believe Sops was on that much. I knew he was in the region of £500k, but that's unbelievable. Oh right it's from Ruck.co.uk, that explains it.

Honestly though I don't want us to spend that exact value on another player, but if we could distribute this on key areas (in particular forwards wise) I'd be very happy.

Also, Gray and Simpson doing well, sweet zombie Jesus they're on a lot more than I would ever predict, if true (again, ruck.co.uk).

Glaws fans were speculating too but might have been DC when figures were collated?

I always thought Lima was on $600K and so less in £s. That quoted figure seems a bonkers amount.

Also can't believe Hogg is on that low a figure plus wasn't Radradra supposed to on a figure matching Piatau.
Let me tell you something cucumber

Cereal box stuff. Publised everywhere Lima was on 500k. Coleman at Irish is on a reputed 800k and he's not listed. Semi at 500k would be like finding a double pack of jaffa cakes in the bargain bin...no way.
Typical Ruck stuff for me.

Sean O’Brien and Lima fighting it out for worst return on investment?

Not really paid attention to Irish, is O'Brien that bad?

Interesting that in the Myles Edwards thread ,the telegraph have Beauden Barrett on £780k as worlds highest paid player, considering figures banded about for Piatau and Radrada.

Think he’s only played a handful of times since signing

Surely Naholo is up there with the highest paid at Irish, he has played once for them since November 2019, admittedly scoring a try. Thank goodness we didn't sign him, when he was rumoured to be joining Wasps.
It was fine when I left it.....

They must've forgotten to offer his 'witch doctor' a contract when they signed him

Think one of the advantages mentioned of the Japan season is that it is only 4 or 5 months so probably much higher pro rata.

The numbers that I heard for Lima were £600K. Sadly, for him and the club, it has seldom happened.
