Probably the type of signing we expected, Old and experienced enough to push for selection straight away, young enough to improve and should compete well with Oghre and Barbeary allowing Barbeary’s time to be managed well and Eckersley to come through.

Looks another solid signing. Cruse will very much be the senior statesman hooking wise with Oghre, Frost, Barbeary and Eckersley snapping at his heels. Frost looks very mobile.

The latter I suspect. Which is perfectly understandable and probably necessary. The good thing is I don't see a drop off in squad quality as we've had some expensive squad members who we're on the periphery at best.

Looks to me like a combination. Investing in training centre, trying to give squad depth and width, plus I imagine adding talismans when required and available. Looks like a multi-year rather season-by-season plan, trying to get foundations solid. Clearly not willing to keep players at any cost (very sad to see TT lured to Sale), but keen to make Wasps a place they'd like to be.

I tell you what, I know it's the championship, but if he can play like that at prem level he could get into the 23 a lot. I can imagine he'd be a nuisance off the bench.
