Gloucester game (meeting up)
« on: December 15, 2017, 10:04:55 AM »
I've posted on the other site too before, but want to put it here too.

Myself, my old man, and my boy will all be attending this game, up in the nosebleed of e20 (PP I think?).  I'd love to put a face (or at least a less blurry one!) to some names. and perhaps have a drink together before/after.

Anyone fancy it?

In addition, and very cheekily, if I remember correctly, Season ticket holders get a discount in the shop?  Would there be any chance of someone being willing to pop into the shop before the game (most likely), and letting me use that discount as I intend to buy a fair few items, most of which I'm reasonably happy to pay asking price for, but the replica shirt is one that without a discount, I'm simply going to try for size and order from Sports Direct, where I can save 20% off the clubs price.  I'd rather have it all on the day, as it would make it that much more special, but I'm not willing to pay so much more with no need.

ST holders don't get a discount, we can use Buzz Points earned, to convert them to a voucher, and use that voucher in the shop.

I bought my last two replica shirts from SportsDirect, but I used gift vouchers bought from Zeek at a discount, thus making the shirt even cheaper. The last one I bought (this years) effectively only cost me about £30, as I first went to Quidco to buy each voucher at Zeek.

As to meeting up, I doubt that I will get there much better than an hour before the game, and the bar and clubhouse will be rammed by then. Need to play it by ear and swap mobile numbers.

OK, so no discount, fair enough, in any case, if there's someone who wants to earn some buzz points from my purchases, they're more than welcome!

I'd love to meet up for a beer, but sadly I won't be there.

Hope they get a win for you!

Tell you what, why not meet at the bar to the right of the E19/20 stairwell (as you face the stairwell going up towards the pitch). I don't like roses, so how about I wear something black and gold?

Anyway. Raggs, you can see what I look like (the avatar is me), you can send a selfie to me in a message, or if you have images on facebook etc, send me a link to them. What seat in PP?

Sent you a pm :).

I've no idea about the layout of the ricoh, my first visit was due to a generous offer that got me into the players' friends and family segment, and the second was a treat from my dad in hospitality, so I've yet to experience a normal matchday! I'll try and make my way to the bar.  Didn't send a number because I can't remember my english number off hand, and I don't know if that sim card will even still work.

Are you parking there, if so where (which car park)? Or by train/bus/shuttle?

Our hotel is the novotel, which is something like a kilometer away, so we'll just walk from there.

Ah yes, walk down Wilsons Lane and Rowleys Green Lane. Will your dad be OK with that? Down a hill and back up. You will come to the Ricoh from the opposite side of East Block.

He should be alright as we can take our time, if not, we'll get a taxi, can't think it would be any more expensive than finding parking right next door (if that's even possible, doubt it).

I agree, but you could drive him down to the end of Rowleys Green Lane (not far to walk from there and it is a dead end with turning point for cars so very little traffic, drop him off and take the car back to the hotel and walk yourself). Then do the same in reverse at the end.

I'll be there with family, it would be great to meet to at least say hello. Happy to try the shop thing as well and give cash for the points. I thought we got 10% off with season tickets, but I see from Nelly's post that we don't anymore.
