Who is going to Saracens
« on: October 21, 2021, 02:01:35 PM »
I am flying over on friday to see family so thought I would get this game in (however painful it might be) OAWAAW.
Who is planning on going and are there any meet up places suggested. ;D

Hi Belfast

I salute your effort and would be there to have a beer with you if was not crocked with flu. I've been to Sarries many times and always a great day. As you can see my address means I can't get to the CBC easily so I attend as many "local" games as possible. So a fanatical Wasps away supporter after the move to Coventry, go to Bath, Tigers, Saints, Quins and Sarries away games. Try to follow the boys and support when in "foreign lands"
The post on here about withholding money to the "cheats" saddens me. Rugby is a family sport and even if one club has transgressed , surely we need to move on and embrace and support the new arrangements if the authorities have ok'd them. Rather than have an ever ending grievance.
I was shot down on suggesting people here move on from the salary cap breach by Sarries. Fair enough but at some point we need to recalibrate. But I go to whatever Alliance Park is now called to support our lads, and often there is only a few dozen Wasps supporters
So Belfast, go for it and sorry I won't be there to meet you

It would be easier to move on if they had been more appropriately punished or shown contrition.
Some of their fans have, some haven't. Fair enough, that is to be expected. Fans have the right in a way to be wrong.
But the club itself has made a bad situation worse, and their media shills have added more cause for opprobrium, suggesting that they and the players are victims, and not victims of their own cupidity but of some mystical confluence of events conspring against them, or worse  some nebulous jealously to see them punished for success.

I know we will never get justice, I have moved on from that, but I find it hard to forgive when it is not asked for.  When they have not issued mea culpa, can you blame fans for withholding cash? To them it is all technical breaches and accounting errors, when in fact it was a systemic attempt to cheat the system, an attempt from which they benefit today as the team has not been dismantled.

So I salute the idea of moving on, but they need to show some contrition.

Enjoy the game Belfast. Everyone in the Stonex who isn't a Sarries fan must be a plus. I've tried to move on from the cap scandals. But there's something about the self satisfied grins, the whooping and the basic arrogance that make Sarries so hard to like irrespective of salary issues.

+1, that's how I feel. Just don't like them. I want anyone but them to win the prem regardless of salary cap.
